For the first time, as Jagello 2000, we actively participated in the largest and most prestigious defence and security fair in the world, IDEX. It was held from 20 to 24 February 2023 in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. It was there we also launched a project for the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Czech Republic. You can find more information about the project on the website czech30.cz.
Thanks to this project, it was one of the biggest presentations of Czech companies to date – almost thirty of them were present. They presented the capabilities of the Czech defence and security industry, from the production of combat vehicles, weapons and aircraft, through information systems or satellite imaging, to protective masks, anti-chemical suits and more.
The Czech exposition was opened by the Deputy Minister of Defence Daniel Blažkovec, who led the official delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic. For the first time in the history of the independent Czech Republic, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, also visited the IDEX fair.
“The joint project is intended to help Czech defence industry companies find connections with relevant partners, especially in this region, even though today’s importance of the IDEX fair already has a significant overlap with the Asian and African markets,” said Blažkovec at the opening of the exhibition.
Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who visited the fair on Thursday, February 23, watched a short version of the video presenting Czech achievements after his speech.
“I think it is important that we have a strong presence here, and in this way, we show the importance of our defence industry,” said the Prime Minister.
Then he devoted several hours to visiting the stands of all Czech companies.
It was the video presenting successful Czech projects in the defence industry that was the connecting element of the national exposition. The Czech Republic undoubtedly belongs to the top in the field of security and defence industry, which is evidenced, for example, by the fact that the Czech company Spaceknow was ranked among the most innovative companies in the world during the IDEX fair.
The expansion of the Czech exposition and the presentation of the most successful projects was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Defence and Security Industry Association, and the Aerospace Industry Association. The general partner of the project or the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Czech Republic is Czechoslovak Group.
