When was the last time you started a fire using a fire steel? Students from the Secondary School of Technical Professions in Olomouc had the chance to give it a go under the supervision of soldiers from the 72nd Mechanised Battalion.
As part of the Get to Know NATO project, they went on an excursion to Přáslavice. Following an introductory presentation, they had the opportunity to experience a taste of military life first-hand. They explored and tried out military equipment and gear, and could also take part in a practical field survival demonstration. Including, of course, the fire-starting exercise using a fire steel mentioned above.
