What does a typical day look like at the 71st Mechanised Battalion in Hranice? What does service in the army involve, and what can students experience for themselves?
On Wednesday, 25 March 2026, students from the Secondary Technical School in Přerov went on an excursion to the 71st Mechanised Battalion, where they gained insight into the soldiers’ daily work—not only in theory, but also in practice. They tried out a laser shooting range, took a close look at military equipment, and learned more about what military service entails.
The programme also included a tour of the historic barracks, including the Church of St Barbara, which is located within the grounds.
