Resilience in Security and Economics (RISE) Dialogue

March 12th 2026 | Austin, Texas

The first edition of Resilience in Security and Economics (RISE) Dialogue took place last week in Austin, Texas, on Thursday 12 March, organised in collaboration with the Atlantic Council and The University of Texas at Austin.

The half-day conference brought together political leaders, business representatives, security experts and academics. They discussed strengthening transatlantic cooperation, economic resilience, innovation, and new opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as specific examples of Czech-American collaboration in cybersecurity and mutual aid during crises—for instance, Czech firefighters taking part in flood relief efforts in Texas last year.

We were delighted to welcome Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, who joined a discussion with Atlantic Council Vice President Jenna Ben-Yehuda.

We would like to thank all partners, speakers and participants for the inspiring discussions and believe this marks a strong beginning for a new platform for transatlantic dialogue.

We are grateful to our event partners: CSG, American Friends of the Czech Republic (AFoCR), and the George W. Bush Institute, part of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. We also thank the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington, DC, for their collaboration.
