“Our Security Cannot Be Taken For Granted” for schools

Citizens’ awareness of defense issues and their trust in the security forces are one of the pillars of the functioning of a democratic society. We see the strengthening of these pillars as particularly important for the young generation, which is coming of age more than thirty years after the fall of communism, does not have its own historical experience from the Cold War era, and takes the current security arrangement for granted.

This project therefore aims to raise students’ awareness of security issues, especially in areas outside traditional urban agglomerations. For primary and secondary school students, we organize debates with representatives of the security community and Czech and foreign soldiers, excursions to Czech Army bases or units of the Integrated Rescue System, professional informal discussions with experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defense or journalists, and professional internships for university students schools.
