Czech–US Defense and Security Forum

October 13th 2026 | Washington, D.C.

How can Czech-US defence and security cooperation be further developed?

Possibilities for further developing Czech-US cooperation in the field of defence and security were the main topic of the second Czech-US Defense and Security Forum, which took place in Washington. We organised the conference in cooperation with the Hudson Institute and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington.

For the first time, this year’s event was attended by Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Jaromír Zůna and James Mazol, US Deputy Secretary of War. In addition to representatives of the business sector from both sides of the Atlantic, the conference also featured speeches by Jakub Kulhánek, Czech Ambassador to the US, and Nicholas Merrick, US Ambassador to Prague.

Key topics included the development of cooperation between the Czech and US defence industries as part of the so-called reindustrialisation process. This is accompanied by a continually growing volume of direct investment by Czech companies in the US market. Throughout the conference, examples of the successful activities of Czech companies CSG, Colt CZ Group and PBS, as well as other companies successfully establishing themselves in the US market, were repeatedly highlighted.

The conference took place on the sidelines of the prestigious AUSA defence exhibition and professional forum and successfully built on last year’s pilot edition.

We would like to thank the Ministry of Industry and Trade for supporting and organising the business mission. We would also like to thank the event’s general partner, CSG, as well as American Friends of the Czech Republic, Luminova Ventures and VRgineers for their support.
