Get to know NATO (XX.): debate with excursion in Prostějov

December 2nd 2024 | Prostějov

Not everyone can say they visited the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion in Prostějov. But students of the Gastro-technical High School Velké Meziříčí can boast of it. First, they attended a lecture about the unit and then moved closer to the airport, where they could see the equipment and armament in the premises where members of the unit pack parachutes. Outside, they saw some of the ground equipment, and inside they were able to touch a parachute and see it in the state it was in just before being packed into a backpack. They could also try to sit in the “sling” like on a real parachute, where the officers practice the jump – and the more adventurous ones tried it out.
