New Website of NATO Days

We have launched a new website of the NATO Days in Ostrava show.

After long seven years, NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days show has a new design of its website. It corresponds to the significance of the largest air, army & security show in Central Europe. It offers a better lucidity and new functions to its visitors, which should reflect the technological development in recent years.

Re-opening of the NATO Information Centre

NATO Information Centre in Prague re-opens at the new address and starts to provide complete range of services for the public again.

Official opening in the premises of the CEVRO Institut, at Jungmannova street 17, Prague 1 is to be attended by the Czech Minister of Defence Alexandr Vondra. On this occasion will be also a discussion about the last ten years of the North Atlantic Alliance held, named "From Prague to Chicago: NATO bigger, NATO stronger?".

Karel Kovanda, former Czech Ambassador to NATO, gen (ret.) Andor Sandor, former Chief of Military Intelligence Service, and Ivan Gabal, sociologist, are to participate at the debate.


NATO Days Exhibition in SHAPE

NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days organizers continue in promotion of the event's first 10 years at key nodes of the North Atlantic Alliance. Latest venue is the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium. 

Photo Exhibition entitled "NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days: Our security is not given“, was opened by Adm. James Stavridis, Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. Distinguished guests included Gen. Vlastimil Picek, outgoing Chief of Staff of Czech Armed Forces and his successor, Gen. Petr Pavel. The exhibition had been previously displayed at the Alliance’s Headquarters in Brussels in January. 



Meet NATO 2012

Project of the debates and presentations for high school students continues again at the Air Force Base in Caslav.

Its purpose is to introduce the North Atlantic Alliance, the Czech Army's participation in it and especially the Air Force's participation in the NATINEADS system. Students from three high schools take part in the project.


Energy Security Dinner Talk

Jagello 2000 Association and the DGAP organizes the dinner talk with the subject "What could be the future of a common energy policy in the EU?".

The main speaker is Václav Bartuška, Special Envoy of the Government of the Czech Republic for the Construction of the Temelín Nuclear Plant and Energy Security. The aim of this event is to openly discuss mutual attitudes towards securing the production of electricity in the context of the plan of the Czech Republic to complete the construction of Temelín nuclear power station and the announced German plan to overall nuclear shutdown. The debate was attended by the top representatives of energetic companies from North Rhine-Westphalia.


Chicago 2012: Just Another Summit?

NATO Information Centre organizes another informal discussion, this time focused on the forthcoming NATO Summit in Chicago.

It is held only few days to the summit under the title "Chicago 2012: Just Another Summit?". The main guest is a prominent American academician Stanley Sloan, who is devoted to issues of the North Atlantic Alliance his whole career and who should talk about the meeting's importance and its expected results.
