Aliante 2014 Finals

The finals of international student competition Aliante 2014 takes place in the Slovak Army's Lest Training Grounds in Southern Slovakia.

In total 30 2-member teams from 9 countries participates at the finals. They had to succeed in two knowledge-based rounds. The finals is aimed at challenging participants' mental and physical preparedness by the tasks prepared by Slovak soldiers. But also their ability to cooperate will be tested, because they will compete in mixed international 4-person squads.

Best 6 teams were announced the winners of the Aliante 2014 and they can now look forward to a unique sightseeing tour through Germany, that takes place on August 17 - 26, 2014. Ceremonial announcement of the winners were attended also by the Czech Military Ataché in Slovakia Col. Roman Kopřiva.

Lecture about security at NATO Days in Ostrava

Institute of Regional and Security Sciences of the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Pardubice organized a lecture of Jagello 2000 CEO Zbyněk Pavlačík about security measures at NATO Days in Ostrava.

The lecture "Security challenges of the biggest security show in Europe" introduced attendants to the general procedures, that need to be followed, to the activities of the Integrated Rescue System at the show, prevention or communication requirements.

This time former Czech Ambassador to the USA or Russia Petr Kolář discuss the influenco of the current Russian-Ukrainian crisis on the Euro-Atlantic relations.


Students Meet Experts

IC NATO prepares a new format of educational programme, an informal meeting of students with experts in fields connected with defence & security issues.

The programme is aimed both at high-school ans university students. Representatives of the Parliament, military and NGOs are to debate with students. The meeting is prepared for the participants of the NATO Model discussion project organized by the Association for Foreign Affairs.


Meet NATO 2014

NATO Information Centre organizes another part from the series of discussions and excursions for high-school students focused on introduction of the North Atlantic Alliance and Czech contribution.

This time, it takes place at the Czech Air Force base in Caslav, where soldiers presented the equipment, base itself, and its activities in the framework of the NATINEADS system.
