Finals of the Aliante 2015 competition

The last round of this year's Aliante high-school international competition takes place in Lithuania.

The finals is he held in the city of Kaunas in Lithuania, in Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School with participation of 28 two-member student teams from Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, and Turkey. While previous two rounds tested participants' knowledge, the finals focuses not only on physical and psychological strength. It also proves the ability to cooperate on an international level under demanding conditions.

The winners of the competition can look forward to a ten-day-long excursion to Georgia, that will take place in the middle of August.

Transatlantic Awards presented at GLOBSEC 2015

Traditional round of the Czech and Slovak Transatlantic Awards was presented at the GLOBSEC 2015 Bratislava Global Security Forum Gala Dinner.

The Czech and Slovak Transatlantic Award (CSTA) is an initiative implemented since 2012 jointly by Jagello 2000 and the Slovak Atlantic Commission. Within this initiative, the two non-governmental organisations biannually recognise Czech, Slovak and international personalities who have significantly contributed to freedom and democracy in Central Europe, to integration of the region into Euro-Atlantic institutions and to strengthening of the transatlantic relations.

The three personalities recognised in Bratislava were President of the Polish Republic Bronisław Komorowski, Carl Bildt, Former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and Professor Otto Pick, former Deputy Foreign Minister, who received it for his remarkable life-long fight for freedom and democracy.

Debate for the Czech Model of the US Congress

NATO IC is a partner of the fifth edition of the Czech Model of the US Congress project for high school and university students.

The model represents the only simulation of its kind not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Central and Eastern Europe. In the framework of this project NATO IC prepares a meeting and a debate of the participants with representatives of the US Air Force aimed at the role of the US Air Force in foreign operations of the USA.


Joint Sky 2015

Jun 15-19, 2015
Representatives of the US Air Force are on the visit of the Czech Republic and participate at the debates with high school students.

These debates are aimed at the support of the education in security issues at high schools. US Air Force officials were invited to the Czech Republic for a week-long visit by the Jagello 2000 Association.


Lectures for Mexican students

Praha; June 2015
NATO IC cooperates on the summer school for university students from Mexico by lectures aimed at security and defence of the Central Europe and transatlantic bonds.

One month long summer school organizes CEVRO Institute in Prague for 80 students from Mexico. Topics of the lectures include Contemporary threats to European security, New Security Problems of Central Europe nebo The Transatlantic Political Relationship. All lectures are held in the premises of the NATO IC/CEVRO.

Jagello 2000 prepares the second national conference evaluating the changes of the security environment of the Czech Republic.
